Convert2Any is designed to process your files on your computer. This policy explains the information involved in using the website, optional converter downloads, contact form, and license services.
Information we handle
Files and conversions
The desktop app opens and converts files locally. File contents and conversion results are not sent to Convert2Any as part of normal conversion. Some conversion routes use optional converter packs. If you choose to install a pack, the app downloads that pack to your device; it does not upload your source files.
Website visits
The website does not require an account and, in its current version, does not use analytics or advertising cookies. The hosting provider may process basic connection and request information to deliver and protect the website.
License and purchase information
If you purchase a lifetime license, Stripe Checkout processes the transaction and the email address you provide. After payment is confirmed, the licensing service receives your email address and checkout reference, creates a license key, and stores the key in encrypted form so it can be recovered. A one-way hash of the key is used for license checks.
When you activate or deactivate a license, the app communicates with the licensing service. The service receives the license key when you activate, a random installation identifier, the device name, and app version. It stores hashed license and installation identifiers plus device activation details. The app can verify its signed activation token while offline.
If you request license recovery, the email address you submit is checked against purchase records. If a matching purchase is found, the key is emailed to that address. The recovery flow uses rate limits and gives the same confirmation whether or not a purchase matches.
Messages you send us
When you submit the contact form, it sends the name, reply email, topic, and message you provide to support@convert2any.app through a Vercel server function and Resend. The website does not save contact messages in its own database. Please do not include private files, passwords, payment card details, or other sensitive information.
How information is used and shared
License and purchase information is used to issue, activate, support, and recover licenses, and to protect the activation service. Contact messages are used to respond to you and improve the product. We process information where needed to provide a service or respond to your request, meet legal obligations, or pursue legitimate interests such as operating the product, supporting customers, and protecting the licensing service. Stripe provides checkout and payment processing; Railway hosts the license database and licensing service; Resend delivers contact, license, and recovery emails; and Vercel hosts the website and contact function. These providers process information as needed to provide their services and under their own privacy terms. They may process information outside the UK; where required, appropriate transfer safeguards apply.
Retention and security
License and transaction records are kept for as long as needed to provide license services, handle support, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. Contact messages are kept as needed to respond and maintain support history. The app stores the trial state and license token on your device. We use access controls and encryption for sensitive license records, but no internet service or local storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and rights
You can choose whether to buy a license, activate it, request key recovery, install an optional converter pack, or send a contact message. Under applicable UK data protection law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to request a copy of your information. To make a request, email support@convert2any.app. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Children and changes
Convert2Any is a general-purpose desktop utility and is not designed to collect information from children. We may update this policy as the website or app changes. The date above shows when this page was last revised.
